Power, Capability, and Range of the Ford F-150 Lightning

The Ford F-150 Lightning doesn’t compromise, as it sets the bar for power, capability, and innovation. For starters, the standard range battery has an estimated EPA range of 230 miles and includes a complimentary 32-amp Ford Mobile Charger. As for power, the F-150 Lightning comes with a solid 426 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque with the standard lithium-ion battery. Towing is no problem for the F-150 Lightning as it can haul 5,000 pounds which can be upgraded to 7,700 pounds with the optional Max Trailer Tow Package. When you upgrade to F-150 Lightning Pro, you can get up to a 300-mile range with the battery to go with its massive 563 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque. When equipped with the Max Trailer Tow Package, the F-150 Lightning Pro can haul up to 10,000 pounds. You also get dual onboard chargers, which enable Level 2 overnight charging, which is very AC friendly.

Built Tough

Vigorous testing has been completed for the Ford F-150 Lightning as it has been tested in different facilities throughout the United States and on the road. The same is true of the battery and the powertrain, which go through a grueling battery of tests that include hundreds of charges and drives over rocks, mud baths, stones, and high grades of desert heat. The aluminum body is military-grade and upgraded with a high-strength steel frame which dutifully protects the battery. Meanwhile, the F-Series has an independent rear suspension and a low center of gravity, improving the isolation on the road while maintaining the reliability and durability customers expect from an F-150! Also included is an advanced cooling system that helps ensure the truck thrives in even the most demanding conditions, while the high-strength aluminum alloy protects all the components, including the underbody shield.

New Advanced Technology

When you go electric with the F-150 Lightning, you get a host of new technologies. First and foremost, the F-150 Lightning comes with the first-ever Mega Power Frunk! When you lift the hood, where an internal combustion engine is located, you will instead find a spacious, high-tech cargo area that comes complete with four 120-volt AC Pro Power Onboard electrical outlets and two USB ports. There is also a rugged, water-tight space that is strong enough to hold 400 pounds of cement bags. We also love the easy-to-clean vinyl seats, standard SYNC 4 with a 12-inch LCD touchscreen, and the standard Ford Co-Pilot 360 2.0, which has a host of safety systems. Range anxiety is reduced with the truck’s intelligent range and adaptive monitoring system that calculates the range necessary to complete the entire trip while also factoring in terrain, weather, cargo and trailer load, and distance to destination
