2021 Mustang Mach-E earns Car and Driver’s first Electric Vehicle of the Year Award. Mustang Mach-E bests 10 top-rated competitors overall in Car and Driver’s three weeks of testing, which included a 1,000-mile road trip to simulate real-world driving. Car and Driver editors say Mustang Mach-E makes being behind the wheel of an electric vehicle as rewarding as driving its gasoline counterpart.
How fast is the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E?
The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E is one of 40 all-new electric vehicles Ford is introducing. It rides on an all-new electric vehicle architecture where the lithium-ion battery cells ride beneath the floor in a skateboard-type design. Buyers will have their choice of either rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel drive. The rear-wheel-drive Mustang Mach-E comes standard with a 68 kWh battery and can travel 230 miles before charging. The all-wheel-drive system will go 211 miles. The GT edition delivers 480 horsepower and a 0-60 mph time of 3.8 seconds, but you will gain a 0-60 time of 3.5 seconds if you opt for the Performance Edition. A massive 15.5-inch touchscreen is standard and loaded with high-tech features.
